"Expires after" default setting

Good day,

I like your application very much and prepaid a user as well. Almost all files that I emit for download would need a longer time than a week before expiring. It would be nice if the expire time could could be configured, so that I do not have to change it every time from one week to another period. Is this possible?

Have a nice day,

Henk

I assume you're referring to SynaMan. Use the following steps to configure this.

  • Stop SynaMan
  • Locate AppConfig.xml file in $INSTALL_DIR\config folder. $INSTALL_DIR is usually set to C:\SynaMan\config in Windows and /opt/SynaMan/config on Linux.
  • Make a backup of the file in case you need to rollback
  • Modify the file and add the following towards the end:

    <parameter name="publicLinkExpIndex" type="2" value="8"></parameter>
The value corresponds to the selected index, which starts from 0. An 8 in this value will correspond to 1 Month as the default.

  • Save the file and restart SynaMan

How is "8" translating to 1 month?

Is "16" equal to 2 months?

I am not sure how this is calculated and why "8" would be 1 month.

Carsten,

8 represents the index, which starts at 0. See image below.

Thanks for this information!

We've set the max.days.for.public.link parameter to 30 days and it's working correctly, but we'd now like to hide all options after 30 days from the GUI. Is it possible to hide the following options:

  • 2 months
  • 6 months
  • 1 year
  • Never
