Mohammad,
There are two problems using a network path for repository:
- Syncrify runs as a service on Windows. Mapped drives on Windows are user-specific - meaning if you create a mapped drive, that drive will not be available to the service account or any other user account. Therefore, you will not be able to use a mapped drive. The only solution is to use a UNC path
- Most network resources prompt for user credentials. There is no way to specify that user id/password through a background service and therefore, you will have to configure the network path so it never prompts for a user id/password, which could be a security risk.
Even if you are able to bypass the two problems mentioned above, using a network path is not efficient. Please refer to https://web.synametrics.com/SyncrifyMappedDrive.htm for details.
