ERROR: when attempting to upgrade

Synaman version 4.7 build 1556, installed on Windows Server 2019. I received notification that a new version was available. When I log into the console and click the upgrade link, I get "Internal server error occurred. Unable to fetch url - ERROR: PKIX path building failed: unable to find valid certification path to requested target"

I tried backing up the environment and attempting to install the new version over top of the existing install, but this generated a DLL error and I had to revert. Never had problems updating this product before. Any ideas?

ERROR: when attempting to upgrade

One reason for this error is an older JRE, which does not trust the SSL certificate on our site. Visit for instructions on how to upgrade.

Use the following method to check if you're using an older JRE:

  • Log in as 'admin'
  • Click 'About', which will change the URL in your browser to ...operation=about
  • Manually change the URL to ...operation=sinfo
  • Search for java.runtime.version. You are using an older version if the value is below 1.8.

Please call our support line if you are using a newer JRE and are still running into this problem.

THank you. That was the problem. The upgrade was successful this time.
