Restrict how a user can create upload/download links in Synaman

1st question:

Currently, when creating an upload or download link, there is a choice of when it expires from 1 day to never.

Is there a way to configure the server to where only 1 day is available to a user?

2nd question:

Can a user be restricted to only create an upload or download link, not both?

Restrict how a user can create upload/download links in Synaman

Answer 1:

Although there is no way to modify the number of days, you can specify a maximum number of days as a global setting on the server. For example, if the global max is set to 14 days, it does not matter if a user select 60 days. The generated public link will always expire after 14 days.

This is done by specifying the following line in server.properties file (https://web.synametrics.com/server-properties.htm)

max.days.for.public.link=14

Answer 2:

You can do that to a certain extent. For example, if you create a user and do not grant them Write Access to a folder, that user will not be able to create a public link for Upload. Creating a public link for Download only requires "Read-Only" access and almost every user will have that.
