Syncrify client not starting on MS Windows Server 2003

Hello,

When trying to open the Syncrify client on a WIndows Server 2003, nothing seems to happen. You can see in Task Manager that the back-up client is running in the background, but you can't see anything. So it's not possible for me to fill in the required customer data to back-up.

I tried running it via CMD and got this message:

"Microsoft Windows [versie 5.2.3790]
(C) Copyright 1985-2003 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\baltes>cd "\program files"

C:\Program Files>cd SyncrifyBackupClient

C:\Program Files\SyncrifyBackupClient>jre\bin\java -jar SyncrifyClient.jar
Error: Unable to access jarfile SyncrifyClient.jar

C:\Program Files\SyncrifyBackupClient>"

Now am I right in thinking this is a rights issue? Or does the 2003 version of WIndows Server pose more issues?

Syncrify client not starting on MS Windows Server 2003

Sebastien,

Syncrify uses JRE to run and the latest installer for Syncrify Client uses JRE 1.8, which is not supported on Windows 2003. Therefore, you will have to install an older version of Syncrify Client. Please contact our support department via email and we will send you a download link for an older build that will work on 2003.

Note that the latest version of Syncrify Client will work with older version of JRE. Therefore, once JRE is downgraded, you will be able to use Syncrify Client on Windows 2003.
