Backup to Cloud Services

Hello,

We manage backups for a number of different clients and are evaluating Syncrify as a possible solution to switch to.  We currently use Amazon S3 through Amazon Web Services as the repository for our backups.  Does Syncrify allow for direct backups to Amazon AWS?

Backup to Cloud Services

Kyle,

I do not recommended using S3. That is because that will require that you install Syncrify Server on your network and use the disk on Amazon. Check http://web.synametrics.com/SyncrifyMappedDrive.htm for an explanation and check the section for disadvantages.

When you use EC2, Amazon will give you access to the entire machine and you will be able to install Syncrify Server on that machine.

Ah yes I see.  Our current backup solution allows to go directly from the client systems to our Amazon bucket.  With this, we would be adding another hop in the backup process that data would need to transfer between.
