Revolving around the core of technology
Looking at your product as our current methodology for backing up from a Windows server to a QNAP NAS has exposed a vulnerability. Almost all of our data has been stored in a file structure that uses excessively long file and folder names - resulting in much of the creating backup routines [QNAP backup client on Windows server to Folders on NAS] failing on the extremely lengthy source folder/files. Is this a potential issue for Syncrify? Thanks in advance.
Long file names are not a problem in Syncrify. Since Syncrify is a synchronization tool, it tries to preserve the directory structure between source and target. The underlying operating system determines the maximum path length. For example, this value is around 32,767 on an NTFS partition.
