Cannot connect to admin console

On Windows 7 SP1 (x64) with Syncrify 3.5 (x64). When trying to launch the admin console I get 'can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:5800'. Syncrify is installed to the default location. It doesn't matter what browser I use, the result is the same. Synbrify is running as a service. I have both Java 7 (x86) and (x64) installed but in Common Files not the default location. Any help appreciated. jemail

Cannot connect to admin console

Jemail,

There are two possible reasons for this:

  1. The Syncrify service is NOT running. Could you please confirm if you see the service status as "Started". Click "Refresh" to ensure you are not reading stale data
  2. Service is running but something is wrong with the embedded web server. For this check the log file in C:\Syncrify\logs\Syncrify.log file. You should see some errors at the end of the file. Post the errors here.

Cannot connect to admin console

Are you using any VNC programs? I believe they use port 5800 as well.

Since you can't connect to the Admin console to adjust the listening port through the GUI, you will probably have to go through the xml files to change it.

C:\Syncrify\config\AppConfig.xml is the location by default of the file that controls which ports the web server is listening on. There is a line in there for "httpPort2" that should have 5800 in it. You can change that to another port and then restart the Syncrify Server service. You should then be able to connect to the admin console on your newly designated port at that time.
