backup success but jobs report not sent by email

Hello,

I ave an issue : the backup successfully works but the report isn't send by email.

If I go to smtp settings and I send a test mail, it works !

I don't understand this issue.

Do you have an idea ?

I have this in syncrify client log below :

backup not success but jobs report success is sent by email

I had modified the sheduled task.

The report is now send by mail (the mail server was busy when syncrify tried to send report).

But, the report indcates that the backup was successfull and it indicates that 0 bytes were transfered.

It's impossible that 0 bytes were modified so I think backup doesn't work.

Thanks for your help.

backup not success but jobs report success is sent by email

Dear Charles,

The error messages in the client log about "Undesired server response: -1|-1|0|ERROR" has nothing to do with the email not being sent.

Emails are generated by Syncrify client but are sent by Syncrify Server to the SMTP server. Therefore, check the log file on the server side for the exact error. Which SMTP server do you use. It is in-house?

Imran

As you can see in my 2nd post, reports are now send by mails (The reason was that the mail server was too busy).

I had re-installed Syncrify Server and Client.

In interactive session, it works. I will see if backup works now in sheduled task.

I will give you a feedback after new year's day cause I'm in hollidays to night.

Thanks.

Dear Imram,

I'm back and I give you feedback about my issue.

So, jobs reports by mail works now. The issue is now that the report indicates a success but no bytes and no files are backup. For your information, option local cache folder is activate. It's impossible that no files where modify because 30persons works every day and modify files on it server.

here is the mail report :

backup not success but jobs report success is sent by email

Charles,

Looks like there are two separate issues:

1 - Unable to ping server

2 - Files are not being backed up

Issue #1

Syncrify client runs as a service in the background. Part of this service is a Status Monitor Server that keeps track of status messages sent from a running job. Looks like there is some problem with this service. This should only affect the status messages you see through the status viewer application that running on your Windows Task bar. Send us the BKServ.log file from your Data Folder.

Issue #2

This could happen if an incorrect selection filter is specified or an exclusion filter. Send me the following files via email to support@synametrics.com

  • ProfileName.syncrify - this is on the client machine in the Data Folder.
  • AppConfig.xml - this is on the server machine in the $iNSTALL_DIR\config folder.

Imran
