ASFIK, Syncrify does not use that much memory. Since Syncrify is written in Java,
you can specify the maximum amount of memory is should use by specifying the -Xmx
parameter. 

Change the run.sh file and use the following value as a parameter to java

java -Xmx64m ... (remaining parameters)

I backup about 16 GB every day and the memory usage stays below 30MB
