Tino,

This is most likely a false positive. As long as the downloaded setup.exe is digitally signed by Synametrics Technologies, we guarantee there is no virus.

We had a similar issue with one of our other products and we had to submit a request to Semantic for removal. They were very prompt in responding. Check https://web.synametrics.com/winsql-virus.htm for details.

We will try to contact VirusTotal and see if they provide such a removal mechanism.

Tino,

We tried going to TotalVirus's website to see if there is a way to submit a request for removal. We could not find a way to do that. Many virus companies are a conglomerate of other venders. For example, if one of them gets a false positive, that signature gets propagated to others, and eventually, many anti-virus software starts reporting the same false positive.

TotalVirus provides a way to upload a test-file. We did that and the setup.exe that is digitally signed by Synametrics Technologies, Inc. is being flagged incorrectly having a virus. TotalVirus is getting this information from other virus vendors. For example, I see since BitDefender flags this as a virus, TotalVirus is reporting it as well.

Since the file is signed by us, Synametrics Technologies, Inc. guarantees the file is free of any virus reported by any company.
