Revolving around the core of technology
Hello;
Client: v2.6 build 517
The server and client have been installed and running approximately 2 yrs.
I am hoping for some insight and assistance in figuring out why syncrify has recently started copying the entire file(s) rather than just modified files. The backups have gone from kilobytes to MB and up to 1G + (the total size of the client backup location is a bit over 5GB). This behavior appears to have been ongoing for the past month or so.
Here is a snipit of the log file. Note than none of these files have been modified in years....
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\06300902.EXP - Entire file - 46 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\06301001.DTA - Entire file - 175444 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\06301101.DTA - Entire file - 165865 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\06301201.EXP - Entire file - 46 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\06301401.EXP - Entire file - 42 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\06301402.DTA - Entire file - 317358 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\07010801.DTA - Entire file - 155158 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\07010802.DTA - Entire file - 372812 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\07010901.DTA - Entire file - 122833 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\07010901.EXP - Entire file - 42 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\07010902.DTA - Entire file - 492165 bytes
C:\shares\brRCS\RCS\Storage\07011001.DTA - Entire file - 207369 bytes
This is pretty much what the entire log file looks like nowadays. Which is significantly different than past logging. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide any further info/data.
Cheers,
Paul
Paul,
Check Syncrify.log on the server side. I have a feeling this is caused by some I/O error on the server side.
Hello;
Thank you for the response! I had a look at the log file on the server (CentOS - 5.8). There were only repeat error messages filling the .log and .log.1 files. The memory on the server had been at nearly 100% for an unknown period of time. I rebooted the server (virtual server), which had been running for almost 600 days. I will see if this helps with the sycrify backups which will start back up in a couple of hours.
Here is a snipit of the syncrify.log on the server...with the reboot at the end:
Not really sure what the invalid value could be. I will let you know how the next backup/sync goes after the reboot. Might be time for a host reboot as well. Its been running for 570 days ;-)

This error is not related to the current problem. Instead, it is occurring because an older version of client is connecting to server. If you use the same build on the client, you won't see this error.
