Unable to read data for xxx Error: Read timed out

Hello, what the heck is this? My backup is stuck on one file and in the server log I see this error several times for that one file. After few minutes of trying it goes to another file, but it seems the file which was making the errors is backed up in the end after some tries. There are no errors on the server in windows event log and drive to store backup seems to be OK according to chkdsk. So what the heck could it be? Maybe the problem could be related to deduplication which is enabled on a target drive? But this is managed by OS, so Syncrify should not care at all. I have W2K12 server and this client machine having a problem is XP.

Why can't I edit post? When there are these errors regarding the file it is present on a server with 0 size. After it somehow manages to back it up it has it's proper size it seems,

So I confirm the problem i snot client related - it does the same for another machine. And also new error:

ProtocolHeader - Unable to get entire client data, most likely due to a network problem.

I will try backing up something from another location if that could be a network issue... But internet works fine.

OK so I suppose there is no technical support in Synametrics anymore right? I guess I am happy I did not give you my money...

Dear McVitas,

First, we sincerely apologize for a delayed response. May I recommend sending us an email if you run into a critical issue. Emails go in our ticketing system and are tracked much better.

In any case, please send us the log files from both client and server. We will also need the ProfileName.syncrify file from your client's machine. This file is located in the DataFolder (http://web.synametrics.com/syncrifydatafolder.htm) .

Note that if the file is big, Syncrify could be working in the background without any visual indication. The best way to look into a running job is through telnet. This tells you what the server and client is doing at a given time. Check the following links for more information.

Best regards,
Imran
