Synaman: User Password Issue

We have recently changed the password for one of our user logins in the Synaman system and it appears that now the original password AND the new password are both valid for logging in.

I would have expected that the original password would have been overwritten by the new one, but this does not appear to be the case, I can now use both.

Any idea what could cause this issue? I would like to remove any trace of the old password from the system. If you require the log files I am willing to supply them.

Did you use an incorrect value for the password before changing it to a new value? By default, SynaMan blocks the IP address if you specify an incorrect password for more than 5 times. When an IP address gets blocked, you won't be able to connect even using the correct password. SynaMan will automatically remove this block after 10 minutes.

Try connecting from a different machine and see if that works or wait about 10 minutes and then try. Note that the 10 minutes are counted from the LAST attempt, not the first.

I have changed the password via the 'Change Password' button at the bottom of the users login and I have also tried to change it via the Admin control panel, byt going into user settings and specifying the password to be used.

No machine is locked out, no IP addresses are being blocked.

The problem that I have is that the user is still able to login to Synaman by using EITHER the old or new password.. what is the point in changing a users password if they can still use the old one to log in?

C:\SynaMan\logs\SynaMan.log
