Two-way sync issue

Dear Support

I am following up on a previous ticket (TicketNo: 037384477) where Michael and I had a long discussion about an issue regarding two-way sync. The problem back then was that empty folders could not be deleted in a two-way sync setup. The folders would constantly reappear.

I downloaded Syncrify version 3.5 build 781 today in order to test whether this issue had been resolved in the interim. There still seems to be a problem with regards to folders, irrelevant of whether these folders are empty or not. I set up 1 Syncrify server and 2 Syncrify clients in virtual machines. All of them run on Windows Server 2012 and all of them run on 3.5 build 781.

Please try to reproduce this as follows:

  1. Create folder A on client 1 and click synchronize. The folder appears in the repository.
  2. Synchronize client 2 and wait for folder A to appear on the client.
  3. Delete folder A on client 1 and click synchronize. Folder A is removed from the repository (A._synDeletedDir).
  4. Synchronize client 2. The folder reappears in the repository even though client 1 deleted it before.
  5. Synchronize client 1 and  the folder will reappear on the client as well.

It seems to me that only the client that synchronized LAST is able to delete the folder. As an example, in step 3 above, if you delete the folder on client 2 it will work as client 2 was the one that synchronized last.

This can be reproduced as follows:

  1. Create folder A on client 1 and click synchronize. The folder appears in the repository.
  2. Synchronize client 2 and wait for folder A to appear on the client.
  3. Delete folder A on client 2 and click synchronize. Folder A is removed from the repository (A._synDeletedDir).
  4. Synchronize client 1. The folder will be removed from the client.

This does not apply to files at all. Files can be deleted from any side. The problem seems to be related to folders only. Please investigate.

Thanks & Regards

Stefan
