Revolving around the core of technology
Hi,
using 'Integrated client' 696 or 693 disabling 'Folder cache' shows no effect:
- a folder cache is built (I deleted the folder and it was immediately rebuilt when backing up) and
- that folder cache is used (only partially transferred files are never retransferred/finished before deleting the folder cache)

Workaround: Setup a Pre-Script that runs a batch file doing this:
del /s /f /q C:\ProgramData\SyncrifyData\FolderCache\*.*

Frank,
Folder cache can be enforced from the server's end as well. Could you please make sure you are not enforcing clients to use cache.
Imran.
You're right, Imran,
it was enabled on the server.
Yours, Frank
P.S. already posted that but to the wrong thread. Sorry about that.
Where on the server side is this config? Where is it enforced on the server side?
Jake
Hi Jake,
it's hidden. Logon to the WebUI of the server as admin, go to 'Configuration' Tab and click the tiny 'Advanced Configuration' link in the upper right corner (just left from the Quick Links).
There's an option to 'Force clients to use local cache' .
HTH, Frank
Thanks for your reply Frank, but for some reason when I click on Advanced Configuration, I get nothing but a blank page....fail. I tried in IE and Chrome. What am I missing?
...there is another way:
- edit [InstallDir]\config\AppConfig.xml with notepad or vi
- search for 'forceClientToUseFolderCache' and set it to 'false'
- save the file
- restart the service/daemon
HTH, Frank
