Syncrify doesn't install in Windows 8 (64-bit)

Austin, This looks like an installer issue. Try the following method. * Install Syncrify on another machine that has Windows 7 or 2008 * Copy the entire C:\Syncrify from this other machine to your Windows 8 machine * Run C:\Syncrify\InstallService.bat on the new machine. This will register the service. * Once done, you should be able to connect through a browser. The URL should be http://localhost:5800 Regards, Imran.

Syncrify doesn't install in Windows 8 (64-bit)

Thanks for the response, Imran. I tried your suggestion and it appears I don't have a InstallService.bat when I install the client on a different machine running Windows 7. I should have also mentioned I'm trying to install the Syncrify Client and not the Integrated Client. Although neither install successfully on Windows 8. Does the Syncrify Client not have a batch file to install the service? >Austin, > >This looks like an installer issue. Syncrify doesn't install in Windows 8 (64-bit)

Austin, I apologize, I thought you were trying to install Syncrify server on Windows 8. There is no installService.bat for Syncrify client. Instead, use the following steps: * Open a Command Console Window (DOS). Make sure you open an elevated Command Console. Without elevation, you will get an access denied error. * Change the directory to C:\Program Files\SyncrifyBackupClient * Type the following command: BackupClient -installService * This should register the service. If you ever have to uninstall the service, you can use BackupClient -uninstallService command. Imran.

Syncrify doesn't install in Windows 8 (64-bit)

Nicolas,

The next release of Syncrify (v3.4) will work with Windows 8 without manual installation. You can download a beta version from:

http://www1.synametrics.com/files/Syncrify/SyncrifyInstaller64.zip - Server

http://www1.synametrics.com/files/Syncrify/SyncrifyClientWinServiceVM64.zip - Client

Both of these links are for 64-bit Windows. The scheduled release date for v3.4 is February 15, 2013

Regards,
