Error sending Syncrifyclient.jar

Since we upgraded our syncrify server to the lastest version we are receiving the following error for some clients.

08:24:49,260 ERROR handler.DownloadCustomInstaller - Unable to send SyncrifyClient.jar to x.x.x.x

It seems to generate a lot of traffic as our network link is becoming saturated by the traffic, the only way to fix it is to stop the syncrifiy server..

Is there a way to fix that error?

Error sending Syncrifyclient.jar

Francios,

When you upgrade Syncrify Server, clients try to upgrade themselves as well. The entire Syncrify Client is embedded in a single JAR file stored on your Syncrify Server. They should try to pull these files just once. Once done, a newer version of Syncrify Client should run on the remote machine.

Since you see these errors in the log, check the machine on x.x.x.x to see why it is not able to pull the file. Often anti-virus software blocks Syncrify Client from downloading it.

Try opening the following URL in a browser from the machine where Syncrify Client is running.

http(s)://YourServerHost/app?operation=dnci&type=jar

This URL should start downloading the file.

How To Stop This

  • The best option is to see why a client cannot download this file. Once the client is upgraded, it won't have to do this again.
  • Another option is to delete $INSTALL_DIR\customClient\SyncrifyClient.jar file from the server machine. If this file is not found, downloads will result in a 404 error. However, clients won't be able to update themselves.
