Same here but with the map $RECYCLE.BIN. It seems that Syncrify Selection Filter has an problem with excluding hidden files/directories.
As i back up the root of an data disk i get log files claiming to have failed because of the 600+ $RECYCLE.BIN files that cannot be backupped.
Frank,
A $ is a special character and must be escaped. For example, if you want to exclude $RECYCLE.BIN, you must use the following value for selection filter.
^\$RECYCLE.BIN/
The backslash before $ is used to escape special characters and a slash at the end signifies a folder name.
Thanks for the extreme fast reply. Í will change the selection filter and will report asap if it works. :)
Well,
i've tested it en it works like a charme :) I'm very pleased at last my backuped files now exceed the error files . Thanks for the tip it seems this was no bug after all.
Although i realise that there is NO bug i go on in this thread beacuse of the mentioned special caracters. Are there any special characters i need to use wehen excluding a directory with a space in it ? I've tried excluding a dir with command ^User Pinned/ but then no files get synced at all. And does er needs to be a space between the Pipe character ?
Frankky,
There is no escape character for a space. Could you please send us an email to support@synametrics.com with your ProfileName.Syncrify file. We tried specifying a space in the selection filter on our end but it worked as expected. Using your profile will try to recreate this problem on our end.
