Unable to connect to server with Windows client. EOF message.

I have just installed Syncrify on a Windows 2003 box and set it up with a test client on Windows XP SP3. I am able to test the connection successfully through the client (the "Play" Icon next to "Remote Server Path"). But when I try to backup I get a pop up box which states "Unable to connect to the server. EOF reached." I have tried changing the port (after reconfiguring the server end), changing the "Remote Server URL:" setting etc, etc. All to no avail. Has anyone else seen this problem and, more importantly, does anyone know how to fix it? bmak

I ran into a similar problem recently when I setup Syncrify on a Win 7 Pro box and attempted to backup from another Win7 Pro machine. I could see the server, but the backup ended with the same error you outlined. The Hard drive I was attempting to backup to was not physically located on the win7 box. It was on a freeNAS server, mapped onto the Win7 box. I then used the internal drive of the win7 box and the error disappeared. I believe the software has an issue saving the data to a mapped or network drive. I have since backed up 36GB worth of data and then deleted 1 file to test the incrementals. Took 57 seconds to complete. >I have just installed Syncrify on a Windows 2003 box and set it up with a test client >on Windows XP SP3. Hey I think you just nailed the problem. I am indeed trying to run the backups off to a NAS device from the server. I will give this a try, but if the product cant deal with a NAS device than I think it's a show stopper. Thanks for the post! >I ran into a similar problem recently when I setup Syncrify on a Win 7 Pro box and >attempted to backup from another Win7 Pro machine.
